Parks & Recreation

What We Do

West Sacramento Parks & Recreation consists of four separate functions: a Parks Division, Recreation Division, Early Learning Services, and our Tree Program. The Parks Department provides recreation and leisure opportunities with its park facilities and recreation programming. These programs are designed to help local residents improve their overall health and quality of life.

Exciting Updates Coming to Westacre Park

The City of West Sacramento Parks & Recreation is thrilled to announce that construction on the highly anticipated renovation kicks off in March 2025! This transformation will create a vibrant recreation, fitness, and fun hub for all ages. • A refreshing splash pad & climbing wall – ready for family-friendly adventures!
  • Upgraded courts for basketball, pickleball, & futsal – plus new soccer fields to bring the community together
  • Modern public restrooms, shade structures, & ADA-compliant parking – for comfort & accessibility
  • A health & fitness labyrinth + innovative play structures – to inspire movement & creativity
  • Enhanced lighting, trash receptacles, & parking – ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all

We can't wait to bring these amazing improvements to life! Construction is anticipated to be completed by May 2026. Stay tuned for updates as we get closer to breaking ground.
